[Important Notice] Changes to the “Special Evening Opening: Downtown Summer Evening” Event

The Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum will hold the “Special Evening Opening: Downtown Summer Evening” event on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, 2026.
Please note that this year, to enhance visitor safety during sudden thunderstorms and other emergencies, we have adjusted the event schedule for “Downtown Summer Evening.” Additionally, we have implemented a capacity limit, and admission tickets will be available exclusively through advance online purchase.
We ask for your understanding and cooperation so that everyone can enjoy the event with peace of mind.

■ Opening Hours
Nighttime Opening: Downtown Summer Evening Event ... 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM (Last admission at 9:00 PM)
Regular Opening Hours ... 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Last admission at 5:00 PM)

*The Architecture Museum will close temporarily at 5:30 PM, the regular closing time.
* Visitors attending the “Downtown Summer Evening” event may enter the park starting at 6:00 PM.
* You cannot remain in the museum continuously from the regular opening hours through the “Downtown Summer Evening” event. A separate admission ticket is required for each event.
* Visitors coming for the regular opening hours (9:30 AM – 5:30 PM) on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 must purchase admission tickets at the ticket counter (online sales are not available).

■ Advance Ticket Sales [Limited Capacity / Online Sales Only] *Date-Specific
Tickets for the “Downtown Summer Evening” event are available exclusively through advance online sales.
Due to limited capacity each day, the number of tickets available is limited.

*Once the allotted number of tickets has been sold, no further purchases will be accepted.
*No tickets will be sold on the day of the event.
*No cancellations are permitted after purchase.
*Even for children aged 0 to junior high school age who enter for free, a 0-yen ticket must be purchased for each child.
*If the event is canceled by the organizers due to severe weather or other circumstances by 7:00 PM on the designated date, a full refund will be issued.

■ Cancellation Due to Severe Weather
If the Japan Meteorological Agency issues a “Thunderstorm Advisory,” or if radar or other means confirm the approach of thunderclouds and there is a high risk of lightning strikes or heavy rain, the Downtown Summer Evening event will be canceled, regardless of whether it is before or during the event.
If the “Downtown Summer Evening” event is canceled, it will not be resumed for safety reasons, regardless of whether the weather improves or not.
Please also note that in the event of cancellation, we may ask guests to leave the museum promptly.
