  • New Years at the Open-Air Architectural Museum

    Special New Year's Opening Free admission

    Our reconstructed buildings will be festooned with traditional shimenawa ropes and kadomatsu decorations. There will also be New Year’s festivities such as the “Sekino Town Mochitsuki” (rice cake pounding) and “Koganei-bayashi” (traditional musical performance for festivals), both of which are Koganei City-designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property, as well as performances of Shishimai (lion dance) and Daikagura (juggling).

    Enjoy a tour around the museum by rickshaw, indulge in performances of traditional Japanese instruments, take commemorative photos at the photo studio, and more.
