A special two days to experience the charm of a summer evening.
You can enjoy a festive summer atmosphere in the East Zone’s Shitamachi-naka Street, created by lanterns, illuminated buildings, and the soothing sounds of wind chimes. In the West Zone, you can spend time in the traditional Japanese houses and enjoy the cool evening breeze.
Spend a summer evening at the Open Air Architectural Museum, and enjoy experiences different from the daytime.

Shogi and Go on Benches

Location: Backyard of the Farmhouse of the Tsunashima Family, etc.Enjoy a relaxed summer evening playing shogi outside on benches. This year, you can also try go (Japanese Othello).

Hokusai Manga Haunted House—Learn about Ghosts
Time: 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Location: Mantoku InnA panel exhibition introducing monsters and other supernatural beings featured in “Hokusai Manga.” Mantoku Inn transforms into a haunted house where visitors can learn about ghosts.

Ghost Stories Told by Students in the Edomaru Yose
Time: 6:30 PM to 9:00PM
Location: Farmhouse of the Yoshino FamilyA rakugo event where aspiring student storytellers, dedicated to their craft, showcase their talents within a traditional thatched-roof home.

Awa Dance at the Open Air Architectural Museum

Location: Cosmetic Manufacture “Murakami Seikado”The distinctive facade design of Cosmetic Manufacture “Murakami Seikado” will be illuminated.

Demonstration and Sale of Traditional Crafts

Locations: House of Uemura, “Kawano Shoten” Oil-paper Umbrella Wholesale StoreThere will be a demonstration and sale of the traditional Tokyo crafts of Tsuri-shinobu (hanging ferns), Edo glassware, and Edo fans.

Opening of Stores in Reconstructed Buildings
Time: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Locations: “Kodera” Soy Sauce Shop, Stationery store “Takei Sanshodo”, “Hanaichi” Flower ShopThree stores on Shitamachi-naka Street will open specially for two days only. Available items are drinks (“Kodera” Soy Sauce Shop), old school stationery (Stationery store “Takei Sanshodo”), and cut flowers (“Hanaichi” Flower Shop).

Food Trucks & Stalls

Location: East Square, etc.A row of shops serving drinks and light meals. A dagashi (penny candy) store will also be open.
