TOKYO 150 YEARS The City, Building and People
The year 2018 marks the 150th year since Tokyo was born in 1868. This exhibition, held in conjunction with the “Tokyo 150 Years” exhibition at the main Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku, will introduce the transition of Tokyo through various buildings and look at the changes in cityscape and people’s daily life. The exhibition will also showcase examples of the characteristics and charms of buildings that have been long gone and reuse of historical buildings, and by so doing, shed light to the role of architecture over the 150 years of the city of Tokyo.
